Vince McMahon faces graphic sexual abuse allegations in new court filing from ex-WWE employee
Ex-WWE employee adds graphic abuse claims in McMahon suit
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, detailed new graphic allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking against Vince McMahon in a recent filing in U.S. District Court in Connecticut. The suit accuses McMahon and senior WWE officials of repeated physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault and facilitation of the misconduct from 2019 to 2022. Grant claims WWE leaders ignored her plight and used McMahon's control to silence her.
Grant worked at WWE from June 2019 to 2022 and initially sued McMahon, the company and former executive John Laurinaitis, who has since been removed from the case. The filing describes her recruitment into a role that allegedly led to violent sexual encounters involving McMahon, other men and objects, causing lasting injuries. She alleges McMahon pressured her into a non-disclosure agreement before further assaulting her, leaving her in duress and dependent on submission for survival.
McMahon, WWE's former CEO who resigned in 2022 and later from parent company TKO Group Holdings in 2024, denied the claims in an April 2024 filing. He called the allegations fiction contradicted by Grant's own past statements, including a love letter praising him as her best friend months after the alleged events. TKO stated in January 2024 that it took the matter seriously and was addressing it internally, noting McMahon does not control the company or oversee WWE operations.
The case remains ongoing in Connecticut federal court amid McMahon's prior departures from leadership roles following the suit's initial filing.
